Six children, ages 11 to 14, were arrested by Minneapolis police on Tuesday following three armed robberies and a police chase that ended in crashes on Interstate 94. The group, composed of three boys and three girls, was apprehended after officers responded to multiple robberies and reckless driving reports.
The first robbery was reported on 41st Avenue South around 11:30 a.m., followed by another on Bloomington Avenue. Police identified one of the vehicles involved and pursued it until it crashed on I-94 near Cedar Avenue. Four of the suspects fled on foot but were quickly caught.
Some local Minneapolis news is reporting this case as 6 juveniles arrested for car thefts. That severely minimizes the allegations.
Armed robberies are "crimes against persons" and threaten murder or death, here by threatening with guns. Not "car theft."https://t.co/NUGCtw7uOq https://t.co/hub4Q4Egyj

A third robbery occurred near Pleasant Avenue, and police tracked down a second stolen vehicle that also crashed. Two more suspects attempted to flee but were arrested nearby.
During the second robbery, shots were fired from one of the vehicles, though no one was injured. Police from multiple agencies, including the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, assisted in the arrests.
The six juveniles were taken to hospitals for evaluations before being booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. The 12-year-old male suspect had prior encounters with police, while the others had little or no criminal history.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed concern over the increasing involvement of young children in serious crimes. He called the situation “incredibly frustrating,” and urged for urgent action to address the problem.
These 6 kids 11-14 got arrested in Minneapolis for armed robberies and multiple vehicle crashes, do you think they will be tried as juveniles or adults because of the severity?
