Christian Bloodbath In Syria As Al Qaeda-Linked Forces Take Over

Christian and Alawite civilians in Syria are being massacred as the new Islamist regime expands its grip. More than 1,800 people have been killed in recent days, and entire communities are being wiped out in what many fear is an organized effort to exterminate religious minorities.

The collapse of Assad’s government in December led to the rapid takeover of the country by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a group with direct ties to Al Qaeda. By January, Ahmed al-Sharaa had assumed power, and within weeks, mass killings of Christians had begun.

Reports from inside Syria describe militants executing entire families, looting homes and burning churches. In Latakia, priests have been killed, and surviving Christian leaders have fled. The once-thriving Christian population in Syria has been forced into hiding, with no clear path to safety.

The response from the international community has been weak. The United Nations acknowledged the violence but avoided calling it a religious purge. Major news networks have downplayed the slaughter, instead shifting focus to political power struggles in Syria.

Despite its military presence in the region, Israel has yet to take any action to stop the ongoing killings. While Israeli officials have spoken out about the dangers of jihadist rule, there have been no moves to provide aid or assistance to the Christian communities under attack.

As the killings continue, the death toll is expected to climb. Without intervention, Christian communities in Syria may soon be erased entirely.
