This narrative is hard to sell to many Americans who are struggling with high inflation and increased living expenses. A CNN poll revealed that 39% of Americans are worried about meeting their family’s expenses, a concern that has grown since the Great Recession.
The Columbus Dispatch went even further, asserting that Biden had accomplished more good in four years than any president since Abraham Lincoln. However, this view is contested by those who point to the administration’s handling of inflation, the collapse of the personal savings rate, and the soaring national debt, which now stands at nearly $35 trillion. Additionally, the U.S. debt was downgraded for the second time under Biden’s watch, a first for any president.
The issue of illegal immigration has also been a significant part of Biden’s tenure. Reports indicate that the number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. doubled under his administration. Harris, who was put in charge of addressing the root causes of immigration, now faces media attempts to downplay her role as the “border czar.”
