Donald Trump More Popular Than Taylor Swift, New Poll Reveals

According to new data from Siena College and The New York Times, President Donald Trump holds an edge over pop icon Taylor Swift in terms of favorability. The poll, taken shortly after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris, shows 47% of voters view Trump favorably, compared to just 44% for Swift.

While Swift remains popular among Democrats—where her favorability soars to 70%—her support falters with independents and Republicans. Among independents, Swift’s favorability drops to 41%, with 32% viewing her unfavorably. The divide is even more pronounced among Republicans, where only 23% hold a favorable opinion of Swift, and a significant 60% view her negatively.

Trump’s numbers, though polarizing, highlight a broader appeal, particularly among Republican voters. Despite the high-profile endorsement from Swift, Harris has struggled to gain momentum in key voter groups. Polls suggest that the endorsement has had little effect on voter preferences, with the race between Harris and Trump still too close to call.

The endorsement, heavily promoted by national Democrats, has not shifted the battleground state polls or energized young voters in the same way Joe Biden did in 2020. In fact, Harris’s standing with younger voters appears weaker compared to Biden’s numbers from the same period four years ago.

As the 2024 election nears, this data raises questions about the real-world impact of celebrity endorsements and highlights Trump’s ability to maintain favorability despite fierce opposition from the entertainment world.
