President-elect Donald Trump has unveiled the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a new initiative aimed at reducing federal waste, fraud, and inefficiencies. Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy are leading the project.
DOGE has put out a call for volunteers described as “super high-IQ” individuals ready to commit over 80 hours per week without pay. A social media post from the group stressed the need for dedicated problem-solvers to join their mission.

Musk and Ramaswamy are focusing on overhauling federal agencies, eliminating unnecessary expenditures, and streamlining regulations. Trump has described the initiative as a historic opportunity to reshape the federal government.
Improper payments by federal agencies have cost taxpayers $2.7 trillion since 2003. Fraud, as reported by the Government Accountability Office, drains hundreds of billions of dollars annually from federal budgets.
