Homan Rebukes Crockett’s Claims, Defends Immigration Record

Tom Homan, designated by President-elect Donald Trump as border czar, has rejected comments by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), who claimed he was unqualified to manage the nation’s immigration challenges. Homan responded during an interview on Newsmax, where he emphasized his decades of experience.

“Well, look, I forgot more about this issue than she’ll ever know,” Homan said, referencing his 34 years in immigration enforcement. He dismissed Crockett’s critique, framing it as a misunderstanding of the realities of illegal immigration.

Crockett had accused Homan of incompetence during a weekend MSNBC appearance, criticizing Trump-era policies. Homan countered by highlighting the consequences of illegal immigration for American families.

Homan also addressed claims about cruelty in family detentions, stating that keeping families together in custody prevents unnecessary separations.

The surge in illegal immigration under President Joe Biden’s administration has led to historic numbers, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection reporting millions of encounters since 2021.
