Pro-Ukraine Bomber Suspected In Trump Hotel Explosion

Matthew Livelsberger, a Green Beret and active-duty soldier, has been named as the suspect in the New Year’s Day bombing outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Investigators are examining his recruitment for Ukraine and anti-Trump rhetoric as potential motives.

A Tesla Cybertruck carrying explosives was used in the bombing, which targeted the Trump property. Sheriff Kevin McMahill described the attack as politically motivated, pointing to Livelsberger’s pro-Ukraine leanings and hostility toward Trump.

Livelsberger’s LinkedIn account shows him recruiting fighters for Ukraine, offering significant pay and benefits. A photo from 2016 shared on social media shows him wearing a shirt with the slogan “Slava Ukraini,” a phrase closely tied to Ukrainian nationalism.

Authorities have also highlighted Livelsberger’s wife, Sarah, who shared far-left rhetoric online, including posts critical of President Trump. In one post, she expressed feelings of violence after viewing Trump’s social media.

The bombing is reminiscent of Ryan Routh, a failed assassin with similar connections to Ukraine. Routh’s frequent visits to Fort Bragg, where Livelsberger was stationed, have raised questions about a potential link between the two.

Law enforcement officials are investigating Livelsberger’s military service, recruitment activities, and political beliefs as they work to uncover the full scope of his motives.
