Smuggler With History Of Child Trafficking Arrested In Texas

A five-year-old girl became the latest victim of a child trafficking operation exposed near Del Rio, Texas. Authorities apprehended an illegal immigrant smuggler attempting to transport the girl, whose mother had paid $8,000 for her to be brought across the border.

Lt. Chris Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety disclosed that the mother coordinated the illegal operation through an online service. The smuggler, arrested during a traffic stop, had been previously caught for trafficking minors in 2022.

As critics slam the Biden administration for policies they argue have encouraged such crimes, President-elect Donald Trump’s team is preparing a stronger response. Tom Homan, Trump’s designated border czar, plans to redirect law enforcement focus to field operations, especially in sanctuary states.

Homan emphasized outsourcing administrative duties, saying, “We need every badge and gun on the street to tackle deportation operations effectively.” His approach signals a shift toward a more aggressive immigration policy under Trump’s leadership.

This case underscores the ongoing dangers posed by human traffickers operating at the border and the need for robust enforcement to counteract them.
