Trump DOJ Plans To Investigate Discriminatory Hiring Practices

The Trump administration’s Department of Justice is preparing to address diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs accused of sidelining white and Asian Americans. Critics argue these initiatives violate federal anti-discrimination laws and foster inequality in the workplace.

David Pivtorak, a lawyer focused on discrimination cases, noted the Justice Department could investigate corporations, subpoena documents, and impose oversight through consent decrees. He said such measures might discourage companies from maintaining DEI policies due to potential legal and financial consequences.

“Companies may find the hassle of DEI programs outweighs their benefits,” Pivtorak said.
Cases of alleged discrimination include Oracle’s exclusion of whites and Asians from leadership programs and IBM’s racially restricted internships. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has already filed a lawsuit against IBM, accusing the company of violating civil rights laws.

Stephen Miller, a Trump adviser known for challenging discriminatory policies, is expected to spearhead these efforts. His organization, America First Legal, previously won a case against a pandemic relief fund that excluded white male business owners.

Proponents of Trump’s approach believe it will restore fairness in hiring practices and hold corporations accountable for illegal DEI initiatives. Observers suggest this could lead to a cultural shift, deterring businesses from adopting similar policies in the future.
