Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) recently cited Vice President Kamala Harris’ high staff turnover rate as a key reason she should not become president. In a conversation with Tucker Carlson, Vance pointed to the 92% turnover rate among Harris’s staff as evidence of her poor leadership, arguing that it shows her inability to manage a stable team.
“If you can’t keep 92% of your staff from quitting, that’s a huge problem,” Vance said. He raised concerns about how Harris would handle critical issues, particularly in moments of crisis like war or international diplomacy. Vance suggested that Harris’s instability as a leader could lead to disastrous outcomes if she were to become president.
Vance also addressed the challenges he and President Donald Trump could face if they win in 2024. A major issue will be the implementation of Trump’s mass deportation policy, which Vance acknowledged will face stiff opposition. Critics will likely attempt to label the policy as “fascist,” creating significant hurdles for the administration.
On the economic front, Vance warned about the possibility of international bond markets spiking interest rates in retaliation for Trump’s America-first economic policies. He emphasized the need for a capable treasury secretary who can guide the U.S. economy through these potential difficulties.
Vance and Carlson plan to continue their discussion at a live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania, this weekend as part of Carlson’s talk show tour.
