Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has compiled a new enemies list that includes prominent American figures such as former President Donald Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH). The list targets those who oppose sending additional U.S. weapons and financial aid to Ukraine.
This move comes after Zelensky canceled elections and extended his stay in office beyond his term’s end in May. The report, titled “Roller Coaster: From Trumpists to Communists. The forces in the U.S. impeding aid to Ukraine and how they do it,” was released by a Ukrainian NGO whose founder was trained by the U.S. State Department.
The list accuses these American politicians, journalists, and social media personalities of echoing Russian propaganda, though it fails to provide direct evidence of ties to the Russian government. Instead, the report suggests that their arguments against further U.S. involvement in Ukraine align with Russian aims to weaken Ukrainian defenses.
Prominent names on the list include Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), former Congressman Ron Paul, and media personalities like Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones. Even left-leaning groups like CODEPINK and websites such as antiwar.com and infowars.com have been named.
Many individuals on the list do not support Russia’s military actions but oppose further U.S. taxpayer dollars and military aid being sent to Ukraine, arguing it does not serve American interests.
Critics argue that the list, compiled by an organization funded and trained by the U.S. government, is indefensible. They believe it targets legitimate political dissent and undermines democratic principles.
