A new report has revealed that thousands of Africans are taking flights to Central America, then traveling northward to their ultimate destination — crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.

Under President Joe Biden’s leadership, a record number of illegal aliens have entered the United States in the last year — including 58,462 Africans that were apprehended at the southern border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in fiscal year 2023. This is a massive increase from 2022, when only 13,406 African illegal aliens were apprehended, according to government data. The fiscal year 2023 apprehensions include 15,263 from Mauritania, 13,526 from Senegal and over 4,000 from Angola and Guinea.
The African illegal aliens have been flying into Central America, mostly Nicaragua, then traveling up through Mexico and making their way across the U.S. southern border illegally. The increase in African illegal immigration into the U.S. has been partially attributed to several European countries implementing stricter border controls.
It is unclear how these illegal aliens have been able to afford their flights across the Atlantic, especially because the majority of them are allegedly coming to the U.S. to escape poverty. According to The Daily Wire, “Some claim they borrow money from friends while others say they sold small businesses.”
As is common under the Biden administration, the majority of these illegal aliens are almost immediately released into the U.S. interior after crossing the southern border.
Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) media director Ira Mehlman explained to The Daily Wire in a statement that the message being sent around the world thanks to the Biden administration is that the U.S.-Mexico border is wide open. He also called on the Biden administration to push a policy of deterrence to stop the exploitation of the asylum system.
“Everybody around the world got the message: ‘come to the United States illegally, enter a bogus asylum claim, you’ll be released, you’ll be given work authorization within 180 days, you’ll get to remain here, and the longer you’re here the more you can establish other claims to remain here,” Mehlman’s statement read.
Meanwhile, illegal border crossings have been breaking records under Biden — including in December, when CBP reported an all-time record of 302,000 illegal alien encounters.
