Explosives Found In Car Of Man Who Attempted To Shoot Trump

Authorities have potentially uncovered a disturbing plot involving Thomas Matthew Crooks, who tried to assassinate President Donald J. Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. Explosives were found in Crooks’ car parked near the event, and bomb-making materials were discovered at his home.

Crooks, a 20-year-old from Butler, Pennsylvania, was killed at the scene by law enforcement. During the investigation, authorities found multiple explosive devices, including an IED, in his vehicle. The exact number and type of explosives remain undisclosed. Bomb technicians responded swiftly to secure the area.

Further inquiries led investigators to Crooks’ home, where more bomb-making materials were discovered. It is believed that Crooks used a firearm his father purchased at least six months ago. Authorities are examining the gun’s origin to understand how it ended up in Crooks’ possession.

Crooks’ background reveals a troubled individual. He attended Bethel Park High School, where he faced relentless bullying and was known for his solitary nature. Jason Kohler, a former classmate, described Crooks as a loner who often wore hunting outfits to school.

“He had a few friends but didn’t really fit into any group,” Kohler said.
Another classmate, Jameson Murphy, recalled Crooks trying out for the school’s rifle team but failing due to his poor shooting skills.

“He missed targets by almost 20 feet and was a comically bad shot,” Murphy said.
Crooks also made inappropriate jokes about guns in a school setting, which raised concerns among his peers.

Authorities have not yet determined Crooks’ motive for the attempted assassination. The investigation continues as law enforcement pieces together the events leading up to the attack.
