Even as undocumented migrants continue to flood into the Big Apple, overwhelming infrastructure, driving the local budget to its breaking point and exacerbating the disorder already on display in the nation’s most populous city, leftist Democrats continue to insist that individuals who entered the U.S. illegally should still be welcomed with open arms.
In the home district of U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), the deleterious impacts of so-called sanctuary policies are on full display, fueling backlash against her from a growing number of constituents.
Recent video footage from across the borough of Queens revealed streets teeming with migrants attempting to sell a variety of items along with more than a few who appeared to be involved in prostitution.
Ramses Frias, who recorded the video that has since spread across social and traditional media platforms, said that illegal activity of all sorts has “taken over many streets” in his community lately.
“Like most of my like-minded residents, we see this as a third-world market,” Frias added. “Basically, you just see clothes thrown across the floor. … The items are stolen from donation bins or stolen from stores, and they just set up shop outside brick-and-mortar businesses. They take away trade from these businesses and don’t pay taxes.”

Furthermore, a number of brothels that were reportedly being operated in the area last year are apparently still in operation, as evidenced by women who appeared to be soliciting male passersby outside of businesses along Roosevelt Avenue.
Despite viewing the footage of what is happening in her own district, Ocasio-Cortez found a way to blame her political rivals instead of placing the onus on the policies of her own party that have ushered in the ongoing migrant invasion.
“What we are seeing here is the result of anti-immigrant policies that deny immigrants proper work permits and vending licenses, and drive them into the shadows of undignified conditions,” she complained.
Ocasio-Cortez further denounced Republicans for daring to expose the truth about the areas of New York City that she was elected to represent.
“This is just one way of many that anti-immigrant policies hurt all of us,” she continued.
“Paths to citizenship and work documentation can solve this problem, but Republicans would rather block those so they can film people in their worst moments for views.”
