During a massive rally in St. Cloud, Minnesota, President Donald Trump and his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) strongly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her role in bailing out criminals and failing to secure the border. The rally, attended by thousands of supporters, was marked by sharp attacks on Harris’s record.
Trump and Vance highlighted Harris’s promotion of the Minnesota Freedom Fund during the 2020 riots. The fund helped bail out individuals arrested during the protests, some of whom went on to commit further crimes. “I sent in the National Guard to save Minneapolis while Kamala Harris sided with the arsonists and rioters and raised money to bail out the criminals,” Trump said.
Vance echoed Trump’s sentiments, emphasizing the dangers of Harris’s stance on bail reform. “Kamala wants to end cash bail, and what that means is that if you assault a police officer, you can be back on the street the very next day,” Vance said. He criticized Harris for raising money to bail out rioters and looters, saying, “Let’s throw them in jail and support the cops.”
Harris’s support for the Minnesota Freedom Fund has come under scrutiny as it has been reported that some of those bailed out by the fund committed additional violent crimes. Vance pointed out, “She helped a group of anti-cop extremists raise more than $40 million dollars to free scores of criminals right here in Minnesota.”
In addition to criticizing Harris’s actions during the riots, Trump and Vance also attacked her performance as the “border czar.” Trump accused Harris of failing to address the border crisis effectively. “Kamala Harris’s deadly destruction of America’s borders is completely and totally disqualifying for her to be president,” Trump said. “The one job Kamala had was the border. That’s the only job, but it was the biggest disaster in border history.”
Trump used a vivid metaphor to describe the inadequacy of Harris’s border policies, stating that people in other countries could use “sticks and stones” to secure a better border than Harris has managed in the US.
The rally demonstrated Trump and Vance’s commitment to highlighting what they see as Harris’s failures and making them a central issue in their campaign. The crowd’s enthusiastic response underscored the significance of these concerns among their supporters.
