Former President Donald Trump’s rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, drew an estimated crowd of up to 100,000 people, according to official estimates provided by a spokeswoman for the city.
The event, held in the solidly Democratic state of New Jersey, was described by Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) as the largest political gathering in the state’s history.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Trump expressed awe at the turnout, declaring, “Man, over 100,000 people!” He also took a swipe at the media, lamenting their failure to adequately capture the size of the audience, quipping, “I wish we didn’t have the press here … because they can’t see in the back.”

Despite New Jersey traditionally voting Democratic in presidential elections, Trump expressed confidence that the state would turn red in 2024, stating, “As you can see today, we’re expanding the electoral map because … we’re going to win the state of New Jersey.”
Trump was joined on stage by former NFL stars Lawrence Taylor and Ottis Anderson, both of whom endorsed him, with Taylor declaring, “He will not have to worry about nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again.”
“I just wanted to say I grew up a Democrat and I’ve always been a Democrat until I met this man right here,” Taylor told the crowd, pointing to Trump.

The rally attendees chanted “U.S.A.” as the NFL legends and two-time Super Bowl champions exited the stage while Trump complimented them as “two great guys.”
Also making an appearance at the rally was North Dakota Republican Governor Doug Burgum, a potential running mate for Trump in 2024. Trump praised Burgum’s expertise in technology and hinted at future developments, saying, “Just get ready for something, just get ready.”
During his speech, Trump didn’t hold back in his criticism of President Joe Biden, calling him a “fool” and asserting that “the gloves are off” in his rhetoric towards the current administration.
